Freddie Mercury would have "approved" of Paul Rodgers replacing him in Queen.
The former Free and Bad Company star took over as lead vocalist in the 'We Will Rock You' band in 2005 - 14 years after the flamboyant frontman's death - and the continuing founder members insist Freddie would be happy with their choice of new singer.
Drummer Roger Taylor said: "Freddie was a huge Paul Rodgers fan. Absolutely adored his voice. He was a different animal, but he would have loved to be able to sing like that."

His bandmate, guitarist Brian May, added: "Any number of people could come along and imitate Freddie, but it would be pointless.
"It's wonderful to hear Paul inhabiting the songs and making them new. I know that's what Freddie would want."
Bassist John Deacon, who retired in 1997, has turned down several offers to rejoin his former band.
