Radiohead are looking forward to playing this year's Reading festival because they can't remember the last time they performed at the event
The 'Just' rockers are set to headline this year's event - along with the sister festival in Leeds on the weekend of August 28-30 - and say they are excited because they can barely recall their first appearance in 1994.
Bassist Colin Greenwood said: "I was asking Jonny [Greenwood, guitarist] about the last time we played Reading and neither of us can remember it, other than Thom Yorke singing Tim Buckley's 'Song To The Siren' at the start.
Just because things are going well for us, that doesn't mean we don't have family and friends that we don't see the effects and what's happening. Anyone who's going to come and spend that money, I hope they get their bang for their buck!
"We didn't it enjoy it, as Ed O'Brien, guitarist has just said to me, but that was as much to do with us. We hadn't played such a big stage and before and it was daunting, it's probably why we haven't been back in a while."
Meanwhile, Kings of Leon - who also headline the event - have promised fans value for money with their set.
Frontman Caleb Followill told NME.com: "I hope there's still that party atmosphere this year. I know times are kind of tough on the world financially. If you spend that money to go to festival I think you should be able have a good party.

Tickets for the Reading leg of the three-day event - which will also be headlined by 'Brianstorm' stars Arctic Monkeys - have already sold out.
