Robert Plant doesn't want Led Zeppelin to reunite because he doesn't want to tarnish their legacy.

The 60-year-old singer has refused requests to reform the legendary group for a full tour - following the success of their one-off show at London's O2 Arena in December 2007 - because he is worried he and his bandmates would not be able to recreate their incredible live shows from their 70s heyday.

He told Absolute Radio: "I think the thing about it is really, is that to visit old ground, it's a very incredibly delicate thing to do, and the disappointment that could be there once you commit to that and the comparisons to something that was basically fired by youth and a different kind of exuberance to now, its very hard to go back and meet that head on and do it justice."

Plant is also reluctant to hit the road again with guitarist Jimmy Page and bassist John Paul Jones because he thinks the band is incomplete without original drummer John Bonham, who passed away in 1980

Plant is also reluctant to hit the road again with guitarist Jimmy Page and bassist John Paul Jones because he thinks the band is incomplete without original drummer John Bonham, who passed away in 1980. John's son Jason Bonham replaced his father for their 2007 show.

He added: "The reason that it stopped was because we were incomplete, and we've been incomplete now for 28 years. And no matter what you do, you have to really guard the discretion of what you've done in the past and make sure that you have all the reasons in the right place to be able to do something with absolute, total conviction."
