Mike Skinner has started work on the final The Streets album.

The frontman - who revealed earlier this year that he was only planning to make five records under The Streets name - has already started writing lyrics just two months after the release of their last album 'Everything Is Borrowed', but is awaiting delivery of a custom-made mixing desk before he can start recording.

Not sure whether they're up to album standard so instead of the usual process of total A and R confusion I will post some on t'interweb at random

Writing on his MySpace page, Mike said: "I've got four songs. Not sure whether they're up to album standard so instead of the usual process of total A and R confusion I will post some on t'interweb at random."

Referring to the green logo on the cover of the band's latest album 'Everything Is Borrowed', Mike added: "And when The Streets lighter turns blue next year we're on the last album."
