Damon Albarn and Noel Gallagher are "working together on a lot of stuff".

The former music rivals - whose bands Blur and Oasis were embroiled in a war of words in the mid-1990s - have not only put the past behind them but are collaborating on a new creative project.

Damon's Blur bandmate Alex James told Sziget festival's official website: "Damon and Noel Gallagher are working together on a lot of stuff, so whatever was back then is not relevant anymore.

"But we have to add that young bands today are all very nice. We were totally intolerable."

Noel and Damon teamed up on stage earlier this year at London's Royal Albert Hall for a Teenage Cancer Trust gig, along with Blur guitarist Graham Coxon.

Alex recently admitted he doesn't know what Blur - whose line-up is completed by Graham Coxon and Dave Rowntree - have planned for the future but claimed there is "no pressure" on them as a group.

He previously said: "You're guaranteed to get a different answer depending on which one of us you ask and what day of the week it is. We're bad at talking to each other but there's a lot of love in the room.

"I have no idea how long we'll carry on. Being in Blur now feels just like it did at the beginning. There's no pressure.

"We're playing better than ever. Every show has been wonderful. We thought, 'Let's carry on and play countries we've never been to before."
