will.i.am wants to start his own music festival.

The 'Scream and Shout' hitmaker is keen to strike up a new line of summer events around the globe with his band The Black Eyed Peas - also made up of Fergie, Taboo and apl.de.ap - headlining at every single one.

Speaking to the Daily Mirror newspaper, he said: "I go to YouTube to hear music and it's there streaming, for free. Very few artists have made money by selling records.

"I am trying to figure out how to make a Black Eyed Peas festival in every country. I want one in Brazil, France, Japan and the UK and South Africa and Asia."

The 38-year-old producer - who has previously recorded tracks with Justin Bieber and Britney Spears - has stated he is keen to move his record label Music Group to the UK and eventually own a workshop, where he can nurture new talent.

will.i.am - who is a judge on 'The Voice' UK - said: "I had a label over in America ... and I thought, you know what, I want to base my label out in the UK, because I like this place, it's fresh.

"Why was I making music in America when it succeeds first in the UK? That's dumb. I've got a global perspective, thinking global and acting local."

He added: "I want to walk into a building and say, 'That's my building. It'll be arts and crafts on steroids."
