On Monday 21st November 2005, London band Dogs release their new single "Tarred & Feathered". "DOGS are a scrappy, roguish Brentford F.C to Razorlight's pompous insufferable Manchester Utd." Rocksound Like Joe Strummer gargling with the tar from a hundred Benson & Hedges, DOGS snarl through the pack's most anthemic offering yet. A rabid chant-a-long for the land’s underdogs stuck in shit jobs and nowhere suburbs, singer Johnny Cooke expresses balls-out optimism for the "out of control and misunderstood" young. Having escaped the confines of his own white van job, the message is clear: "I'm on the road / I'm making plans/ and if I fail / at least I tried / out of this jail / I'll still be dreaming".DOGS are making rock'n'roll with more heart, balls and punk energy than any band burning in London at the moment. While some of their peers have disappeared into hot air, they remain tied to the people, thrashing out folk anthems as melodic as The Jam with the daydream lyrical palette of The Kinks.

This music hasn't been made with fickle fashion or arty pretension in mind - this is exhilarating scuzz punk for the nation's terraces, a band whose members bridge the north/south divide and are biting at the Gallagher brother's legacy. The gang of fans chanting every word of this song at their incendiary 100 Club and Reading gigs prove that a DOGS' show is an electric howl across bandland for more recruits to the pack.
