This I Promise You is the new single by Ronan Keating. Over the last ten years Ronan has become one of the worlds most loved pop stars, selling millions of albums in the process. His new single This I Promise You is Ronan doing what he does best and shows there is more to him though than meets the eye. It sees Ronan fully establish himself as a songwriter in his own right. Already an award winning songwriter, This I Promise You is a classic Ronan track and demonstrates how he has grown not only as a performer but now also as a songwriter. This I Promise You completes a trilogy of acoustic, melody-driven, emotionally fuelled ballads and is a natural continuation from two of Ronans biggest hits When You Say Nothing At All (1999) and If Tomorrow Never Comes (2002). Ronan set out to write the ultimate wedding song and the result is This I Promise You. Lyrically the song, originally titled The Vow, is about making a lifetime commitment and promise to the one that you love. Its the third single to be taken from Ronans latest top-ten album Bring You Home, which was released in June this year.Ronan said: "People often come up to me in the street and tell me that one of my songs was their wedding song. Its a great thing to be told and with that in mind I thought Id have a go at writing the ultimate wedding song. It took about seven attempts to get it but Im really proud of this song and hope that it becomes something that people choose to be played at their wedding." Over the years Ronan has made a serious commitment to writing. In May 2003 Ronan was awarded with a prestigious BMI European song-writing award for his song The Long Goodbye, which enjoyed success in the US as a number one single in the Billboard country chart where it was covered by US country duo Brookes and Dunn. In the UK it was a top 5 hit for Ronan.Bring You Home is Ronans fourth studio solo album and his first since 2004s 10 Years Of Hits album, which has so far sold over two and a half million copies. Bring You Home sees Ronan collaborating with songwriters of such calibre as Paul Barry and Mark Taylor (the team responsible for the smash hit single Hero by Enrique Iglesias), Richard Marx and long-term Ronan collaborator Gregg Alexander. As well as This I Promise You, album highlights include his modern reworking of Hello Again by Neil Diamond, The Beatles-inspired title track Bring You Home, the upbeat infectious album opener Friends In Time and a trademark ballad Superman. Bring You Home was preceded by the top ten single All Over Again, a duet with UK folk singer Kate Rusby. On the album Ronan gets a little bit of help from another of his talented musician friends Jamie Cullum, who plays piano on the track To Be Loved.Ronan Keating I Promise You
