Westlife’s Nicky Mourns Father

Westlife star Nicky Byrne has been forced to rush home to Ireland following the sudden death of his father on Tuesday.

The singer was in London to promote the Irish band's comeback when he heard the tragic news of his father's passing.

Nicky Sr. was a popular musician on the Irish cabaret scene, and was extremely close to his famous son - who threw his father a lavish 60th birthday bash in December.

The sad news comes as the hugely successful boyband is gearing up for the release of its 10th album, Where We Are - the group's first since 2007.

A spokesperson for Westlife says, "The boys in the band’s main priority is looking after Nicky at this tragic time."
