JLS

One of the UK’s most successful bands, JLS return with their second single from their top five album, Evolution - Give Me Life, which is released through RCA Records on 23rd December.

Give Me Life is a storming club anthem with a climactic chorus, co-written by the boys and produced by Australian producer, Jaz Rogers. A fantastic example of dirty, electro pop at its best, it combines a fierce beat with the signature soulful JLS harmonies.

It's been four years and four albums since JLS placed second on The X Factor, in 2008. Since then, they've sold over 6 million records, including five number ones, won 2 Brit Awards and are one of only three British bands to sell out 10 dates at the O2 Arena [the others being Take That and The Spice Girls] - that’s over 1.25m bums on seats.

Earlier this month, they took home their fifth MOBO Award, matching Kanye West’s current record and firmly placing them as one of the UKs most successful music groups.

Fifth album, Evolution sees JB, Oritsé, Marvin and Aston shift gear and graduate from a boy-band to a grown-up R&B collective. Their new attitude is demonstrating that JLS are not diffident about upgrading their characteristic boyish charm as they transform into a charismatic 'manband' in front of our eyes.

"We’re massively proud of what we’ve achieved" explains group member Marvin Humes, "We’ve come from the most commercial TV show in the country and we had to play it right and be very careful with what we’ve released ... it’s a natural progression to get to where we are today with Evolution."

"We have a lot of creative input into everything thing do - mixes, song choices, styling, live shows... We’re constantly evolving and we wanted to do something bigger and better. I think we’ve achieved that," concludes Jonathan 'JB' Gill.
