50 Cent & Ciara Spark Controversy With Twitter Feud
Former Hip-Hop couple 50 Cent And Ciara sparked controversy at the weekend (29Jan11), when the pair became embroiled in a vulgar online feud on Twitter.com.
The rapper logged on to the microblogging website after a party at Hugh Hefner's Playboy mansion on Friday night (28Jan11), and his remarks appeared to set off a firestorm from his former partner.
He wrote: "I just left the play boy mansion. I think I want to be a pimp now. Sh*t I have strong pimp qualities. Lol... I'm looking for girls to start my new line of work. Are there any strong potential hoe's on tweeter right now. Lol."
Minutes later, Ciara tweeted: "The things people tweet say a lot about their character, pay attention!" prompting the rapper to fight back: "Yea I tweet things that reflect my character b*tch. I have a sense of humor get one.lol that's why your 3 mill followers behind me" - and fans then began to weigh in on the feud online.
But 50 then appeared to try and calm the spat down, writing, "Ciara now I'm not going back n forth with you on twitter now cut it out."
The pair dated back in 2007.
Chipmunk Defied Advice To Record Brown Single
Chipmunk defied his advisers to record a single with Chris Brown, after he was told not to work with the troubled star.
Brown hit headlines for the wrong reasons back in 2009 following a vicious attack on his then-girlfriend Rihanna, which left him with an assault conviction.
The Kiss Kiss hitmaker's career suffered a major slump in the wake of the scandal, but Chipmunk insists he didn't let the past tarnish their new collaboration, Champion.
He says, "Chris has had a difficult time and he's literally had to start again, accept his wrongs and apologise - and continuously apologise - to get himself back to the point where he is now. Every man makes mistakes, and it takes a real man to learn from them.
"A lot of people did try to persuade me not to do the track. But knowing where I'm at and what I stand for in this country, there was nothing that was going to stop me.
"People were saying radio won't play it, TV won't play it. I said, 'You know what man? I'm doing it'. I'm going to stand next to this dude and say, 'I want to work with Chris Brown'.?"
The single, Champion, is due for release next month (Feb11)
Sir Elton Defends Rap
Sir Elton John is urging music fans not to "ridicule" rappers, insisting stars such as Kanye West and Eminem are "a phenomenon".
The Rocket Man, who collaborated with West for a track on the hip-hop star's latest album, My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy, is passionate about all kinds of music and he's urging non-rap fans to get acquainted with the genre.
The 63 year old tells TeenMusic.com, "I never dismiss any form of music. I listen to everything. I'm on the new Kanye West record, for example. It's a genius record. I was on the Alice in Chains record...
"People who mock rap, and say, 'I don't like it,' they should go check out Kanye in the studio rapping. Or Eminem when he's in the studio. It's a phenomenon. Don't knock it until you've seen it. It may not be your cup of tea (to your taste), but don't ridicule. I find that so many of my peers of my age don't listen to anything new. I love the new."
Contostavlos To Take 'Legal Action' Against Twitter
Tulisa Contostavlos has threatened to sue Twitter.com bosses for allegedly refusing to remove defamatory statements about her posted online by another user.
The N-Dubz singer contacted bosses at the microblogging site after a user began publishing false rumours about Contostavlos, accusing her of taking cocaine while pregnant and "stealing" her bandmate Fazer away from his girlfriend.
The profile has since been taken down, but Contostavlos is furious that the messages were allegedly allowed to remain online for months.
In a series of posts on her Twitter.com page, she writes, "Someone made a fake account and started up loads of evil rumours about me, she dedicated 4 months to tweeting all day everyday making up stories about me, some people actual believed her and started tweeting me abuse...
"I am in the process of taking legal action against twitter for not removing the page due to what they call freedom of speech...."
