As we all swelter in the heat it looks like illness has caught Lil Wayne off guard again, rapper and former label boss go round for round, is R Kelly making a come back with a classic album and the DMC Awards celebrate 25 years.
Lil Wayne Cancels Shows
Troubled by a mysterious illness, rapper Lil Wayne has had to bring his America’s Most Wanted Tour to a halt in Canada this week after doctors declared him unfit to perform.
The tour which features Soulja Boy and Young Jeezy was to hit the cities of Vancouver and Edmonton this week but fans were left disappointed after the dates were cancelled. The concert however is said to resume again tomorrow in Colorado.
Only last month one of the headlining acts, Drake, was pulled from the concert after a tumble did further damage to an old ACL injury.
Floyd Mayweather Accuses Rapper
For some sport and music just don’t mix and looking at the situation one Philadelphia artists finds himself in right now, he may have been best staying clear of champion boxer Floyd Mayweather.
Signed to the boxers label, Philthy Rich Records, Freck Billionaire is now being accused of failing to inform the label of an alleged previous contract. The Philadelphia native is also being accused of stealing a watch from the boxer which Freck and his manager insist was given as a gift to him upon signing with the label.
The issues between the camps are alleged to come from an issue Mayweather allegedly has in allowing those around him to share the limelight.
R Kelly Coming Back with a Bang
A source close to FemaleFirst.co.uk has confirmed that the Pied Piper AKA R Kelly is coming back with a bang when he unleashes his new album next month. R Kelly who has dealt with various legal issues and accusations over the last eight years is now ready to put all that behind him when he unleashes his untitled album next month.
To be released through his long time label home, Jive Records, R Kelly has linked with the likes of Keri Hilson and Akon's collective Rock City for this project which he is said to be exceptionally content with. The untitled album is said to be released in late September.
DMC Celebrates 25 years
One of the most notorious DJing competitions will be celebrating its 25th anniversary this year when the two day festivities kick off at the O2 Arena in London. The World DJ Championships which has recognized the likes of DJ Yoda, DJ Cheese and DJ David will celebrate the last quarter century in epic style when thousands of established and up and coming turntablists descend upon the London arena.
The Awards were first held at the Hippodrome in London’s Leicester Square and were won by the UK DJ, Roger Johnstone.
