Album Review: Jersey Budd - Wonderlands

From the first time I saw a picture of Jersey Budd, I had a feeling he’d be belting out songs that I would fall in love with from the minute I opened his new album, and of course, I was right.

With a sound not too dissimilar from Bruce ‘The Boss’ Springsteen, Wonderlands is the perfect soundtrack to a BBQ in the sun with your mates; listening to his soulful rock voice whilst sinking a few beers. Perfect.

Jersey Budd encapsulates everything you’d want from a Southern rock singer, whilst mixing it all with a hearty helping of strings and horns that you won’t be able to help but get your groove onto.

Usually it takes me a couple of listens before I fall head over heels with an album, but with this one, it was love at first, erm, ear connect? So do yourself a favour and start living the new Glory Days.

Rating: 5/5 - The new summer anthem.
