Artist: Benny Marchant
Album: One More Chance
Label: Marina Records
Benny Marchant has been whipping up a storm in America and in the UK with the release of his single Back To Life and now the singer-song-writer is back with his new album One More Chance.
One More Chance is an eclectic mix of ballads that show off Marchant’s heartfelt lyrics and song-writing skills as well as rockier and more upbeat tracks.
And for any one who heard and enjoyed single Back To Life the opening track Brass Ring will come as a bit of a surprise as it sees Marchant go in a completely different direction in terms of sound.
He blends pop with rock and it is the heaviest and most upbeat track on the album - the electric guitar solo really does light up the song - as Marchant shows that he is about more than just ballads and the acoustic guitar.
And this upbeat rock-tinged theme continues with Bitter bit he has a change of pace with That’s All.
That’s All sees him return to the acoustic guitar driven love song that we are use to - and it is one of the best tracks on the album.
This type of track shows off Marchant’s velvety vocal so much better than the rockier tracks at the beginning of the record.
Marchant is a heart on his sleeve kind of song-writer as he sings about love and loss while and yet he makes the tracks catchy and unforgettable.
Single Back to Life is the most radio friendly track on One More Chance as the pop element really comes through.
Back To Life has a rousing chorus that all the versus build to and it has a real energy flowing through it from start to finish.
One More Chance is an uplifting album from Benny Marchant that shows off his great voice and he song-writing talent - however I would have liked to have seen more than eight tracks on the record.
