Singer/songwriter Daniel Lefkowitz made his name as part of The Low Anthem and now he is back with his new musical project Futur Primitif.
There is a debut album on the horizon in the form of Machineteeth but this week Nuclear Shockwave is released and is the first single to be taken from the new record.
Nuclear Shockwave blends a handful of different genres from Americana to indie as well as blues and a hint of pop which results in a really great track.
Lefkowitz has always been a great songwriter and this trend continues with Nuclear Shockwave as he delivers quite a sparse record that has a real darkness to it.
Daniel Lefkowitz’s deep vocals are supported fantastically by Jared Elmore on the synths, drum machine and he really does work his electronic wizardry on this track.
The electronic solos sound simply fantastic and they are a real juxtaposition to the stillness of the lyrics from Lefkowitz.
We may only be in the second week of 2013 but this is an incredibly exciting track and I doubt we till hear anything like it for the rest of the year - I am really looking forward to the rest of the album.
