The Killers are still one of the most exciting bands around but it has been a long four years wait for the new album Battle Born.

But the long wait is over as Brandon Flowers and the boys are back with their fourth studio album and it is a corker of a record.

Flesh and Bone is the opening track on the album and while there are some rather unexpected electronic sounds on the opening of the song do not fear.

The guitars do kick in and with a rousing chorus that the band has become synonymous with this is the perfect introduction to the record.

Sure the electronic elements do feature throughout the whole track but it great to see The Killers experimenting with different sounds - however they never lose sight of the kind of band that they are.

Runaways is the lead single from the album and it is a small town love story that shows off The Killers at their very best.

This is a track with an anthemia chorus and pulsating guitars but - like all of the best tracks from this band - it tells a real story.

Brandon Flowers is on fine vocal form with this track and it really is one of the best songs on this fine album.

Here With Me is one of the best rock ballads on the track in what is an emotionally drive track - and a personal highlight.

Flowers’ vocals really does bring this track to life as he delivers a very emotional and rather raw vocal - it is tracks like this that really shows off the power and quality of the voice that he has.

Battle Born sees The Killers mix elements of pop, rock, electro and indie together to produce a great sounding album where the pulsating tracks are just as great as the ballads.

Songs such as The Rising Tide and Flesh and Bone will be true highlights of any live set while Be Still and the other ballads really show off the quality of song writing.

Four years may have been a long wait for this latest record but it is good to have The Killers back and they have delivered an album full of infectious and emotional tracks.
