Opening with the inspired title track, Lily's immediately impressing with her lyrical genius and ability to burst back onto the scene in a way she hasn't before.

"I'm ready for all the comparisons" she sings, whilst delivering something utterly unique. She details how you have to evolve as an artist if you want to stay in the game, and she may be a driving catalyst of the next big development.

The cheeky persona we all fell in love with isn't lost as 'L8 CMMR' proves to be more satisfying than the recently released 'Air Balloon' in every way, and that minor blip on the record is soon glossed over as 'Our Time' steers things back on track

'Insincerely Yours' is a stroke of brilliance as the media and magazines are taken head on, blasted for their portrayal of celebrities as Lily states her intentions - she's here to make money.

Things get deep with 'Take My Place'. "How can life be so unfair? I can't breathe, in fact, I'm choking on the air." It's difficult not to relate this one to all that Lily's been through - an emotional moment amongst the fun woven in the other tracks.

A love letter comes in the form of 'As Long As I Got You' and things get sexual with 'Close Your Eyes'. Whilst she's had troubles in the past, she seems happy and firmly in charge at this moment in her life, with a family she'd likely do anything for, proud that this is the path she's taken whilst reflecting on what could have been.

Then there's 'URL Badman'. It's a commentary on society and the online generation that sit on their computers doing the most to get attention with their over the top 'bashing', 'flaming' and 'trolling', complete with sheep noises that show just how original these 'trolls' really are. Simply fantastic.

'Silver Spoon' feels like a grower rather than an immediate standout, and social exploration as well as personal life details continue with 'Life For Me' before 'Hard Out Here' packs a punch as powerful as it did on first listen, all the way back in November of last year.

As a collection, 'Sheezus' is one of the best albums to be released for quite some time. Lily brings forward a new wave of Britpop and it's fantastic to be a part of her generation, watching history be made.

Though she may claim her better music hasn't yet been released, this is a solid offering throughout with just an 'Air Balloon' blemish that's easily forgiven.

Lily Allen's 'Sheezus' is available from May 5.
