Matt Goss 'Life You Imagine'

Matt Goss is a recognisable face in Las Vegas due to his long-running weekly residency in the location, which has inspired a new project.

“I wanted to write an uplifting album about the Vegas experience and feeling like a man,” says Matt Goss, reflecting on the 10-track record 'Life You Imagine' he's set to release on Monday.

“You find your groove, and it feels good. I wanted it to reflect how I am now, and how I’ve been over the last four years, and what it’s like when you come through a big relationship.”

I want people to make love to it, to make babies to it, to get married to it, to dance to it, cry to it, laugh to it.

Working with Ron Fair - producer to such stars as Christina Aguilera and The Black Eyed Peas - the two didn't always see eye to eye regarding musical direction.

"We're both very meticulous, and we did push each other - but in the best ways." Goss says.

However, they got through it and produced some of the most exciting swing and jazz tunes to date.

“Ron heard my first sketches for these songs and said to me, ‘I want to build skyscrapers on these demos.’ And that’s what we did over two years."

Opening with the tender, cool yet satisfying 'Mustang', the album has you all-ears within 30 seconds.

Following up with 'Lovely Las Vegas' - a brilliant upbeat choice for track number two - it becomes clear that this compilation is truly something special.

'Evil' - a sassy song that delivers an almighty punch to a former relationship is a gem and could easily become a big hit, alongside the re-invented Bros classic 'When Will I Be Famous' - a refreshing and unique version of the song with exciting brass arrangements.

Track 'I Do' was used as the soundtrack for a modern online wedding, which has since seen 900 million hits since being streamed.

Goss says of the album: “Really, what I want more than anything is, I want people to make love to it, to make babies to it, to get married to it, to dance to it, cry to it, laugh to it. And if that happens I’ll be a lucky man".

He continues: “I want it to be part of the tapestry of their lives.”

Matt Goss - 'Life You Imagine' - is released October 7 via Decca/Capitol.
