Daniela Brooker is back this week with her brand new single Heartbreaker - a track which is taken from her forthcoming album P.S.
And if you are expecting a bit of mindless pop from the nineteen year old then think again as there is something quite old school about this track.
Heartbreaker mixes an infectious pop beat with a guitar riff that wouldn’t be out of place on a Carlos Santana record - but these are two elements that fit perfectly together.
There is no doubt that Brooker has a silky smooth set of vocals but this is not a track that really sets the world alight.
Heartbreaker is a perfectly adequate track that has a catchy melody to it with a nice bit of guitar work in the middle - but it is not doing anything particularly special.
There is something quite old school to Brooker’s sound and it will be interesting to see what path her debut album goes down.
