Marina And The Diamonds returns this week with her new single Primadonna; which is the latest track to be taken off her new album Electra Heart.
There is just a ‘we have heard it all before’ feel to this rather uninspiring record - in fact she sounds a little too much like Katy Perry for my liking.
There’s no doubt that there is a great voice in there and it would have been nice have heard in full force rather than it being drowned out by some awful backing music.
Primadonna is half pop track half dance track with some electric beats thrown in there for some unknown reason and it just sounds so manufactured.
There is no doubt that it is catchy and it has some real tongue in cheek lyrics and I am sure that it will go down a storm in the clubs up and down the UK.
Marina And The Diamonds has a very distinguished vocal sound and I would just love for her to tune down the over produced backing track so we can hear her voice take centre stage - I have no doubt that she would blow everyone away.
I have been informed that there is a great accoustic version online that shows off her vocal talent and I may have to just go and check it out.
