The Devil Wears Prada

As 2009 draws to a close, here is the latest news from Ferret Records.

The Devil Wears Prada album update

After returning from a momentous UK run with Enter Shikari and headlining dates through the rest of Europe The Devil Wears Prada are already working on their next record, the follow up to the monstrous ‘With Roots Above And Branches Below’

Jeremy DePoyster confirmed that: "We are working on stuff right now, and I want to put the right amount of time into it, since there was pressure and eyes on our current record. There will be more pressure and eyes on the next record, to see if we can keep doing it. We're still writing and have tours planned, so hopefully we can find some studio time. It's a little early to say. We'll see."

"We spend so much time on the road and working together that it's like we find time," he added. "We already wrote some songs, and Chris has been writing on his laptop ... I'll chime in, change parts or record vocals. We have a mobile setup. What we did last time was take six weeks before a tour, met four or five times a week, and six weeks after a tour, five or six days a week and cracked down. We rented a warehouse space and wrote everything. We will do the same thing this time. That environment creates more of a vibe than demos on laptop."

The new release is expected in the second half of 2010.

36 Crazyfists New Album Update

36 Crazyfists are busy working on the highly anticipated follow up to 2008’s ‘The Tide and It’s Takers’. They took time out to post the following update: “Just wanted to give a little update and let you guys know we are alive and well and writing our asses off. We have been holed up in Garden Studios AKA Northern Alps in Anchorage, Alaska with Captain Dirt Head Steven Holt at the helm once again.

We hope to be wrapping this thing up come spring for a summer release. I wont ramble on too much and tell you guys that this is our heaviest or moodiest record yet but I will say its pretty f’n cool so far and we are very stoked.

Thank you to everyone who picked up the DVD and we hope you all have a wonderful Holiday Season with your families. Thank you to the men and woman who are serving our country over seas and stateside. See all of you in 2010.”

Misery Signals take half a year off

Burning Empires is the new project from Misery Signals boys Stu Ross (guitars), Ryan Morgan (guitars) and Kyle Johnson (bass), Andy Hurley from Fall Out Boy and ex-7 Angels 7 Plagues frontman Matt Mixon. Mixon will front the group.

Misery Signals will reconvene in the second half of the year to work on a new record.
