Green Day: The Musical

Don’t get me wrong, I am a huge Green Day fan, but turning their hit album American Idiot into a musical… hmm, I’m unconvinced.

To be honest, I don’t really see how anyone can do the man of my dreams justice on stage, especially as they try to transform the hit album American Idiot into a full on stage show.

Regardless of what I think, the singers and dancers will tread the boards in September, and they even have the approval of that little fox, Billie Joe Armstrong himself.

The band has long been rumoured to be turning their 2004 rock opera disc into a stage production, and the stars have now confirmed the show will premiere at the Berkley Repertory Theatre in California this autumn.

But frontman Billie Joe Armstrong admits the play, directed by Michael Mayer, is a little confusing. He tells the New York Times, "It doesn't make a lot of sense, but that's what I love about it. When people see it, it's going to be my wildest dream." I’m with you there Billie mate.
