Understudy Sues American Idiot Producers

The producers of Green Day's American Idiot stageshow are at the centre of a legal wrangle after allegedly using footage of an understudy to promote the production without her knowledge.

Morgan Weed claims rehearsal footage from the show's Berkeley Repertory Theatre run in California last year, featuring her, has been used to promote the musical online and on TV.

In her suit, she alleges that producers "misappropriated her identity and likeness and caused her emotional distress" by using her image.  Weed is not a part of the current Broadway cast.
