Blitz Kids

As homage to Black Sabbath’s debut, released some 40 years ago, they entered Red Bull Studios London and tracked 'as live', mixed and mastered everything in 2 days. Producer Gareth Jones (Depeche Mode, Interpol, The Futureheads) at the helm turned this project into a reality pouring all his years experience into making a record stand up against the bands’ peers even though time wasn’t on anybody’s side.

The outcome? - One of the most vibrant and exciting British records that 2011 will see. With a guest spot from Aled Phillips on the lead track, ‘Story’, and huge soon-to-be-classic tracks such as ‘To The Lions’ and ‘Hold Fast’; these guys will be leading a mighty charge next year in the race to the top of the pile of British talent.

Vocalist, Joe James, explained the reason for doing the album this way “We wanted to broaden people’s minds with what music can be about. That it doesn’t have to fall into a category, be that within a genre or the way it’s recorded – it’s no longer about simply following trends. Just because T-Pain auto tuned his voice and sold a million records doesn’t mean you’re going to.” He continues; “…in the current climate, people seem to be losing their way with what music’s about. Fundamentally, it’s about the songs.”

Guitarist, Jono, opened up about the opportunity offered up by Red Bull Studio London “One of the main reasons we wanted to record it in 2 days was to prove to ourselves, and to everyone else, that it isn't necessary to be holed up in a studio for months on end tracking a record, meticulously splitting every hair. It can still be done by turning up at a studio and just blasting through songs like the good old days. Time is money, and we didn't have either.
