Ched Evans' aunt has hit out at her nephew, criticising the professional footballer for failing to show any remorse on his release from prison.

Nina Evans urged Ched to apologise to his victim, despite always maintaining his innocence.

She said: "He deserved to go down as he was found guilty - he did rape her."

Speaking to Ruth Warrander, a journalist at The Sun she explained: "Ched won't grasp or listen. He won't admit he's done wrong. He'll never show remorse."

Despite being found guilty of rape and spending half of his five year sentence behind bars, Ched broke his silence for the first time this week apologising only to his girlfriend Natasha Massey.

Comments soon flooded social media about the way in which he conducted himself in the video statement - clearly rehearsed and reading from a script - and he has been blasted for failing to mention his victim.

In response to the video published, Nina Evans who sometimes works with victims of rape as a counsellor in St Albans, Herfordshire said: "It cut me like a knife. I hoped he'd come to his senses and say the right thing.

"What about his poor victim? It's a massive insult to her."

She added that he'd complained his sentencing had stopped his holiday with Natasha.

"He cried like a baby to his mum. He thinks Natasha's the victim."

Claims are circulating that Ched is now writing a book, which he plans to publish if he's successful with an appeal to overturn his conviction.

As a convicted prisoner he would not be able to profit from any book sales, btui could donate them to a charity.

A source told the Daily Star: "Ched reckons his story would make a very powerful book.

"The court case, conviction, being sent down and how his girlfriend has stuck by him is explosive material. But he realises that the book would only work if he is eventually cleared."

There's still no word on whether Ched will be allowed or invited back to play football professionally.
