Keith Harris has passed away following a battle with cancer at the age of 67.

The entertainer is best known for his collaborative partnership with puppets Orville the Duck and Cuddles the Monkey.

After being diagnosed with cancer, Harris passed away at Blackpool Victoria Hospital, with the news confirmed by the comedian's agent Robert C Kelly.

Harris had a prime-time television spot on BBC One in the 1980s on Saturday nights with The Keith Harris Show, and he went on to reach number four in the UK singles charts in 1982 with 'Orville's Song'.

Despite variety acts fading in popularity, Harris remained popular as one of the nation's most celebrated acts, even making an appearance in the 2012 series of Big Brother.

He is survived by fourth wife Sarah and their two teenage children as well as his 27-year-old daughter Skye from his first marriage.
