62 year old Dr Patricia Rashbrook became the UK's oldest mother, when she gave birth to her son, JJ, on wednesday.
Dr rashbrook and her Husband describes their baby boy as beautiful, and said they don't feel too old to have a baby.
She said: "We would not have gone ahead if we'd felt we would not be good enough parents."
Fertility clinics in the UK cannot help couples over the age of 55 to concieve, so the couple had traveled to the former Soviet Union to have IVF, from the controversial Dr Severino Antinori, to fulfil the dream of Dr Rashbrook's Husband, John, who wanted to be a father.
The Mother has been accused by pro life groups, of being "selfish" as many people feel that at 62, she might have trouble looking after a child.
'We are both extremely healthy and I have always looked and felt very young, but nevertheless we have younger friends with children who have agreed to act as surrogate parents should anything happen to us,'
The world's oldest Mum is believed to be 66-year-old Romanian citizen Adriana Iliescu, who gave birth to a baby girl last year after receiving IVF treatment.
