Kids with servere weight problems can be given a pill to help them lose weight.
The company which produces the drug, which is known as 'Orlistat' says that testing began, this week ,which shows that the anti-obesity pills can be prescribed to children as young as 12.
For servere cases, this is good news, but doctors are worried that this will lead to a generation of parents who believe that they can rely on drugs to keep their kids' weight down.
It works by blocking fat absorbsion in the gut, but should be used in conjunction with a calorie controlled diet. If it's used whilst the patient eats unhealthily, it's though it would produce discomfort and pain.
