Victoria and David Beckham

Victoria and David Beckham

They are probably the busiest celebrity pair in the world of showbiz; raising four children and managing parenthood with hectic and successful careers, and now their hard work and parenting skills have been recognised by the British public, as the world’s most famous footballer and his fashion designer wife have been voted the best celeb parent role models for all mums and dads.

Nearly half of the 1,336 British parents polled by www.MyVoucherCodes.co.uk, said that Posh and Becks represent the ideal image of parenting due to their strong bond, closely followed by Australian supermodel Miranda Kerr and her film star husband Orlando Bloom.

Mark Pearson, Chairman of MyVoucherCodes.co.uk, said: “I am not surprised to see the Beckhams topping the chart for parent’s role model. They always seem to appear as a very close family with a very strong bound whenever they are in the public eye or not.”

With many mum-to-be celebrities in the spotlight, the discount website wanted to find out more about how Britons perceive celebrities when it comes to their parenting behaviours. Also, appearing on the top 10 list was Ben Affleck and Jennifer Garner, Beyonce and Jay Z, and the Beckhams’ pals Gordon and Tana Ramsay (scroll down for list). When asked to specify why they thought the celebrities they chose represented parent role models for them, 46 per cent of respondents who chose David and Victoria Beckham said the ‘strong bound’ the couple have as a family, despite their career choice, makes them the perfect mother and father to look up to.

Meanwhile, over a third of those who chose Beyoncé and Jay-Z, mentioned how the singer and rapper duo manage to preserve their ‘privacy’ despite their A-list profiles, as the reason why they are good parent role models.

Furthermore, when the respondents were asked to name who they thought would represent a good parenting image for parents-to be, more than two thirds named Prince William and the Duchess Catherine as their top choice.

Mark added: “I guess it’s always difficult to maintain a balanced lifestyle between work, friends and family so if you feel like you want to do more with your children then check out a few parenting deals we have on the site whether you want to do outdoor activities or just something special with your little ones.

“We always have specials deals to allow you to spend some more quality time with your family while saving a few pennies.”

On the other end of the parenting spectrum, ‘Speidi’ and Kim Kardashian and Kayne West, respectively receiving 48 per cent and 36 per cent of the votes, were named as the couples least likely to appear as role models for parents-to-be.

According to the results, the top 10 celebrity couples named as parent role models by the British public were:

1. David and Victoria Beckham

2. Miranda Kerr and Orlando Bloom

3. Beyonce and Jay-Z

4. Gary and Dawn Barlow

5. Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt

6. Jamie and Jools Oliver

7. Ben Affleck and Jennifer Garner

8. Gordon and Tana Ramsay

9. Will Smith and Jada Pinkett

10. Jessica Alba and Cash Warren
