Valentine's Day on Female First

An evening at his or hers- A meal out is just wonderful, however if you haven't got the cash, a dinner can break the bank. Cook his favourite meal for him, set the table with a cloth and your best cutlery, with a cheap bottle of wine and a candle in the middle. A lot more effort goes into it so it means more!  Or make your meal together, break open a bottle of wine and have fun making a joint effort!

Set a budget for gifts- If you can only afford a card- agree that you won’t do gifts, or set a budget for presents. Be imaginative with your gifts so it doesn’t have to cost the earth!

Send a video – People choose to do these for their partner when proposing but why not do it for Valentine’s Day? Record yourself saying some sweet words to your loved one and send it to them to brighten up their day if you can't be together.

Make your own chocolates – Get in some cheap treats and make your own dessert. Get a recipe online and go and buy but the ingredients you need, from the budget range, break open a bottle of wine and off you go. Lots of fun and also a precursor to sex.

Create a memory box – Gather together everything you have collected while you have been together, talk about when you got them over dinner or drinks and put them together in your joint memory box!
