A British couple who fell in love over their passion for rock climbing took to 55ft wooden tower and abseiled down it as part of their wedding celebrations.
Katie Owen and Alan Evans loved their extreme sports so much that they made it part of their wedding day and even did it in their wedding attire.
Katie wore her dress, and Alan his suit and they hired a photographer to capture the special moment of film for them to treasure forever.
Katie and Alan were thrilled when the venue they were viewing for their wedding had an adventure park on the grounds and so decided to add it to their list of things to do on the wedding day.
Alan says, “Katie and I both love climbing and it’s one of the hobbies that we enjoy doing together. When we saw this beautiful adventure structure in the hotel grounds, we just knew it was going to be a part of our wedding.”
Katie added, “Not only are we on a high from becoming man and wife, but we are also on a high from the adrenaline of abseiling and all of the adventurous activities on the course - it is very ‘us’ and the cherry on our wedding cake!”
Steph Williams is the man behind the Adventure Rope Course and said that his was very happy when the couple approached him with their idea.
The course has hosted many things, hen and stage weekends to team building, family and friends bonding, but never a wedding and Stephen thought it was beautiful.
He says, “The emotions that come from a wedding are really something else and I am so pleased that the course has been involved in such a happy occasion. I wish Mr and Mrs Evans all the best for the future.”
