52% say they have no shame and would return to work as usual after any festive fun
After a quick kiss under the mistletoe with the boss, 45% of British ladies would be desperate to reach straight for the job section on New Year’s Day to spare their embarrassment, whereas British men are shameless with only 18% affected by a boss-related festive indiscretion according to new research from social dating network, Zoosk.co.uk.
Christmas karaoke queens are not so worried, as only 8% of the Brits surveyed said they would seek new employment if they gave a particularly bad ‘Bridget Jonesesque’ rendition of ‘All by myself’ during a boozey festive celebration with work colleagues.
Leave the boys at home and bring the booze
Most men often wonder what their partner is like at work, but it appears the Christmas party won’t be the place to find out, as over two thirds (68%) of British ladies will not be taking their significant other this year. But don’t despair boys, she’s really only interested in the alcohol, with 40% of women saying it’s their main focus when out celebrating the festive season.

Although the office gossip can run until the summer party, nothing will escape the four walls as discretion is the better part of valour with nearly three quarters (74%) of workers keen to not disclose secrets of the festivities. There may be a few New Year repercussions though, as a third (33%) of male workers use the festive social opportunity to vent their annual frustrations to their bosses!

1 Balance the free alcohol with plenty of food
2 Talk to your boss at the begining of the night while you are still sober enough to remeber what you have said.
3 Ensure you are not left alone with your office crush after 9pm
4 Do look fabulous and that good impression you wanted to make on your boss will shine amongst your drunken collegues
5 Bog a ride home early on to avoid nasty cab queues ensuring you night ends on a high.
“We all know that work place Christmas parties are a time to let your hair down and celebrate the impending holiday, but it appears British men are more relaxed than most when it comes to their festive office antics,” said Jane Barrett, Zoosk International Marketing Director. “Interestingly the Zoosk survey shows that British ladies don’t want to be embarrassed and would rather walk away from a job than have a red-faced New Year.”
