Clive’s career started way back in 1987 but it was only in 1990 that he gained recognition after portraying the lead in TV series Chancer.
In 1998 he gained international fame for his performance as a struggling writer in Croupier but it was 2005 that saw him catapulted to great heights in the film industry.
The 47-year-old gave, arguably, his best performance when he took on the role of Larry in Closer in 2004.
He won six awards for his performance, including a BAFTA for Best Actor In A Supporting Role and a Golden Globe for Best Supporting Actor in a Motion Picture.
In 2006 he won acclaim for both his performance in Children of Men, in which he played Theo Faron, and Inside Man, in which he starred alongside Denzel Washington.
In 2011 he starred in Killer Elite alongside Jason Statham and Robert De Niro but the film didn’t do as well as expected with Rotten Tomatoes only giving it 24 per cent out of 100.
Most recently, Clive starred in the Intruders which involved Clive’s character John having Hollow Face intrude his mind to blur the edges between real life and the imaginary.
Shadow Dancer gained positive reviews so far and sees Clive play an MI5 agent tasked with job of forcing a member of the IRA to become an informant for the British Government.
