Women are often associated with Cosmetic Surgery to regain their youthful looks but now it seems that women are also encouraging their husbands to join them.
Heather and David Robertson had been married 18 years when Heather decided she was going to have liposuction and a tummy tuck to get her body back to its best.
Her husband David wasted no time in agreeing to go under the knife with his wife to get a chin tuck. He told ABC News, “You know what, hey, whatever, I am game for it so let's see what happens. It's got to be a bonus. It can't hurt right?”
He also explained why they both decided on the surgeries, “Heather has had four children, we have had four children together and you know it takes quite a toll on our bodies so if anybody deserves to get a tummy tuck, I think she deserves to get one done.
“If you've seen me when we first met, I think that is the image she has of me in her head. I was about 135 pounds and was all muscle. Now I am about 185 pounds and there is not as much muscle.”
Dr. Anthony Youn, a board-certified plastic surgeon who specializes in Cosmetic Surgery, said he is seeing more and more couples like his patients Heather and David Robertson getting cosmetic surgery.
He said, “A lot of Couples want to play together, they vacation together, they want to raise kids together. Now they are having surgery together, too.”
The number of males having plastic surgery has gone up 121 per cent in recent years, according to the American Society of Plastic Surgeons but Heather says she doesn’t mind her husband undergoing surgery and that this is a new part of their life together.
She said, “'I know we are still young but we are getting older, and [this is] just another new chapter, another new adventure.”
Both Heather’s and David’s surgery went well and now David has a smooth chin and the damage that four children caused to Heather’s stomach is non-existent and in its place sits a smooth, toned tummy.
