These incredibly life-like Cupcakes are the creation of Emma Thomas aka Miss Cakehead and have be designed to both educate and repulse.
They will be available to buy over this weekend at the Eat Your Heart Out pop-up cake shop which will open from 26th- 28th October at the St Bart’s pathology museum.
The Cupcakes, despite looking rather unappetising, are made from chocolate or vanilla sponge and then decorated to look like the symptoms of different STDs.
Each of the cupcakes will showcase the symptoms of gonorrhoea, herpes and syphilis in shockingly accurate detail.
The point of putting these cupcakes on sale for the public to see and sample is to put across the message to Brits to remember to have safe sex.
Miss Cakehead has chosen not to label each cupcake with which STD it represents as she believes it’s a good metaphor for STDs as a whole.
She said, “It's like having unprotected sex with a stranger. You never know what you'll get!”
Not only will STD cupcakes be on sale at the event, but also Stool Sample cocktails as well as Chlamydia cookies and many other grotesque delights.
