A new survey shows that British couples are taking tips from the best-selling erotic novel Fifty Shades of Grey when it comes to their love life.
The leading sugar daddy dating site, SeekingArrangement.com polled it’s members and found that 79 per cent of women found succumbing to a dominant male like Christian Grey, a massive turn on.
Men were taken by the antics within the book, as 90 per cent of them said that they found the idea of woman being submissive like Anastasia Steele to excite them.
Those polled were happy to introduce props into the bedroom, with 43 per cent saying they would use handcuffs and 47 per cent saying they would like to experiment with blindfolds and bondage gear.
Not only were the members of the site changing their bedroom habits, but they were also changing their profiles to fit the themes of the book.
Over 24 per cent of its active female members changed their profile in order to find a similar arrangement to that of Anastasia Steele’s with Christian Grey.
Liya Step, a 22-year-old student from Reading, is a real life Anastasia Steele. She has a ‘mutually beneficial relationship’ with men that she dates through SeekingArrangement.com.
She is paid an agreed monthly allowance by her sugar daddy to help with costs that she accumulates over the month, whether that be clothing, university fees or necessities.
She also uses MissTravel.com, the site that carries the ‘Who needs money, beautiful people travel free’, to date men.
Liya is currently in an agreement with a 43-year-old sugar daddy who made his millions working in information technology.
Liya says, “Yes, we have an agreement but there is nothing sinister and I don’t have to do anything which I don’t want.
“We just have a great time and really enjoy each other’s company. And like Christian and Anastasia, we are madly in love.”
Liya says that the Fifty Shades books have had an effect on their love life.
She says,” Fifty Shades has opened people's eyes to all sorts of new things. It has made us all a lot more adventurous in the bedroom.”
Liya has been dating her current sugar daddy love for the past nine months, and insists that it’s not all about the money.
She says, “We get on brilliantly and he is the kind of man I would have dated if I had not met him through the site.
“I hadn’t dated older guys before but it is exciting meeting men who have the dynamism to set up their own businesses and make millions of pounds.
“They don’t just want a pretty girl on their arm - they want an intellectual equal. I hope I provide that.”
