Home Workers Admit To Having Sex On Company Time
Working from home certainly has its benefits but it seems that some employees are taking more than they rightfully should when it comes to working from home.
Shockingly, six per cent of home workers admitted that they had not only had sex on company time, but that they had answered a business call whilst doing the act.
One respondent said, “The problem with working from home is the lines and divisions between private and professional life become blurred.
“It’s easy to forget you’re meant to be working, especially if your partner is home as well. I’ll admit there have been times when we’ve found ourselves in a romantic embrace only to have the moment shattered by a call from the boss or a client.
“Trying to speak professionally at such moments can be a real challenge. I suppose such incidents will become less common with the increase in things like FaceTime and video calling.”
That wasn’t the only time home workers answered a call inappropriately. Incredibly, 10 per cent admitted to answering the phone when on the toilet.
One of the most common bad habits, however, was refusing to get dressed for the day. A massive 64 per cent of home workers did their office duties in their pyjamas.
Worryingly, 19 per cent of them decided that getting dressed in any form of clothing was too much of a chore and said they regularly work naked.
A massive 72 per cent of home workers admitted to catching up on household chores and 30 per cent said that they would often do their food and clothes shopping on company time.
Another respondent said, “I love to go shopping during work time because I can get my chores done instead of having to do them on the weekend when the supermarket is so much busier.
“Home working offers much greater flexibility. As long as I get my tasks done my boss doesn’t care when or where I may be at any given time. It can be a little awkward when he rings me just as I’m paying at the checkout though.”
The TV was a huge distraction with 80 per cent of people saying it was something they would have on whilst doing their work.
Over a third of them said that it provided a welcome distraction from paperwork with daytime TV such as This Morning and Bargain Hunt taking priority over their work.
A spokesperson for ECigaretteDirect.co.uk, the company who conducted the survey, said, “I was not surprised with the number of people watching TV or doing household chores because you can sit down for 10 minutes to watch Deal or No Deal and before you know it an hour has passed and you’re hooked, wanting to know whether they have dealt at £5000 or £8000.”
“I’ll admit to being a little shocked just how many people seem to be having sex instead of working. If any of our staff call in to tell me something big has come up at home I’ll definitely be concerned.”
Other perks of working from home was being able to go to the gym and work out for 40 per cent of people.
For a further 15 per cent it was the perk of being able to take as many cigarette breaks as they pleased and many said they engineered days away from the workplace for this reason.
