Prince William Doesn't Wear A Wedding Band

Prince William Doesn't Wear A Wedding Band

David Cameron recently told Glamour magazine that he doesn’t wear any jewellery, including a wedding ring.

The Prime Minister told the magazine that he had just ‘never got used to’ wearing anything on his hands.

Weddings rings are slowly starting to be banished in favour of ‘ring tattoos’, but would you let your man get away with not wearing a ring?

Leaving no trace of commitment to their wives was quite common for men not so long along, it was only around the time of WWII that men began to wear wedding rings to remind them of home whilst they were away.

Ninety per cent of couples tend to buy two wedding bands, but it is not uncommon that men in high society eschew a wedding ring.

Peter York, author of the Sloane Ranger Handbook, told the Daily Telegraph that Mr Cameron was simply sticking to his class ‘code’ by not wearing a wedding ring.

He said, “There is a group of upper class people who think the less of that stuff you wear the better, less bling.”

Mr Cameron isn’t the only one to be keeping to this tradition.

Prince William refrains from wearing a wedding ring. After the announcement that he would not wear one after his marriage to Kate Middleton, Clarence House explained it was ‘quite common for there just to be one ring in a society wedding’.

Despite it not being necessary for men to wear a wedding band, prices have soared in the last 50 years and most men will now wear one as a sign of commitment.
