Would You Sleep Your Way To The Top?

Would You Sleep Your Way To The Top?

When the news hit that Kristen Stewart had indulged in an affair with her Director Rupert Sanders, the gossip went into overdrive.

Questions as to whether someone being your boss would stop you having relationships with them were asked and surveys showed they were a common occurrence in most work places.

But would you sleep your boss, not for love, but for a promotion? Incredibly, 20 per cent of us said it was something we would consider.

A lot more men were open to the idea then women, with 30 per cent of men willing to sleep with their boss for a promotion compared to only 8 per cent of women.

The poll, conducted by staffbay.com, asked 5000 job seekers about their career aspirations and 7 per cent said they would definitely sleep with their boss to secure a promotion.

A further 12 per cent did not hesitate in saying that it would certainly be something they would consider.

Tony Wilmot, founder of staffbay.com said, “These results are really shocking, especially the huge differences between men and women’s attitude to this.

We’ve all witnessed the devastating effects that having a workplace relationship can have, not to mention the awkward situation it could put yourself and other employees in and Tony agreed that they are not a smart idea.

He said, “Office affairs are not the best idea, senior managers already have a position of power, therefore there is no guarantee they will keep their side of the bargain.”

Would you ever consider sleeping with your boss to get a promotion, or is this something you’ve done already?
