Smokers Voted Un-Dateable

Smokers Voted Un-Dateable

Meeting the person of your dreams can be hard enough, but now it’s proven that it is even harder when you’re a smoker.

Research from LetsQuit.com found that 53 per cent of people wouldn’t date a smoker, even if they were the partner of their dreams.

Eight of ten people said the biggest turn off when dating a smoker was definitely ‘fag breath’ but that wasn’t the only thing making smoker un-dateable.

Three quarters of those surveyed said they wouldn’t date a smoker because of their smelly clothes and a further 50 per cent said it was a smokers stained yellow teeth and finger nails that put them off.

It wasn’t just the physical implications that were a huge turn off, it was the potential health implications too.

Half of all non-smokers were concerned by the risk of passive smoking that would become inevitable if dating a smoker.

In one of the most comprehensive studies into the UK’s smoking habits, Letsquit.com found that 85 per cent of smokers have tried unsuccessfully to kick the habit.

The average smoker has tried to stop three times but lasted only around four months before lighting up again.

Interestingly, a lack of willpower is the number one reason why smokers who want to quit have never even tried. One said, “I’m just too addicted to smoking.”

Letsquit.com helps smokers kick their habit in just one week using online interactive cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT) and powerful mind programming hypnotherapy on day seven.

The step-by-step programme is the first of its kind and works by sending the customer 20 minutes of daily video content, and interactive exercise via email and streamed on a computer or mobile device.

Clinical hypnotherapist Tim Smale said, “The results from today’s Letsquit.com survey show that on top of all of the obvious health issues brought on through smoking, it is also damaging the smoker’s chance of finding love

“Letsquit.com is perfect for smokers who have tried and failed to quit in the past, as the combination of cognitive behavioural therapy and safe and relaxing hypnosis helps to challenge the negative beliefs about quitting and find the many other less obvious positive rewards like this.

“It’s also great for those with a busy schedule, as you can watch the 20 minutes of video each day in the comfort of your own home or on your smart phone whenever time permits. I’ve helped over 3000 people quit smoking at my practice and I’ve always wanted to reach a wider audience; finding this technology has helped me to do just that.”
