Tonight’s full moon could be your lucky charm if you want to spice things up in the bedroom.

The scheduled full moon and lighter evening will make 63% of us, that’s almost 39 million Brits, more amorous for one night only. It seems that the full moon is the sure fire way to bring out our basic instincts.

To celebrate the DVD and Blu-ray release of The Wolfman (7 June), Universal UK asked Brits about their behaviour under a full moon and 64% of women and 61% of men claimed to feel more lustful under the moonlight.

If you’re 25-34 years old and from the Midlands, then you are most likely to feel romantic. The Welsh and 55 year old plus are more likely to resist the force.

The effects of the full moon have been claimed to affect everything from doubling the amount of dog bites (British Medical Journal) to influencing serial killers.  The latest findings come just in time for the only full moon this month.

Watch Out For Mood Swings

Another influence of the full moon includes erratic behaviour, with nearly half of all women (40%) claiming intensified mood swings and feeling crazy and wild.

Folk from the South West are affected most under a full moon, with over half (52%) admitting to feeling the effects, whilst the North East and London are least effected with only 31% and 32% respectively feeling the force.

Bring Out Your Animalistic Nature

With over half of all Brits (56%) wanting their partner to be more animalistic in the bedroom, tonight’s full moon may make for the perfect opportunity to lose your inhibitions.

The vast majority of men (70%) and 45% of women want their partner to let loose, and the 25-34 age group is the most keen to become more of an animal in the bedroom.  Those from the Midlands and London are the most adventurous, with almost two thirds wanting bolder partners.

Behavioural Psychologist Dr Glenn Wilson comments "These findings aren’t surprising as the full moon has been linked to zany behaviour and romance throughout history.

"This is apparently because moonlight is slightly unreal and mysterious, dim enough to reduce inhibitions and mask blemishes and but bright enough to stimulate and support mischief".
