Memory Box- Some of the stray papers and bits and bobs you get when you are together may seem like rubbish at the time, but keeping things such as concert tickets and corks from bottles of champagne that you had on special occasions are certainly worth keeping. Your memory needs jogging sometimes and a little reminder from your box of goodies can do just that. Whether you are telling your family about a particular day or sifting through it just the two of you- it can be a very powerful source of things you might have forgotten.

Diary- A memory box might be able to cosset the memories of what you did, but it doesn't help you to recall how you felt about it. If you keep a diary of your courtship- you can look back over the emotions both high and low since you first met. Some of it will be hard to read, however others will make up for it and fill you to the brim with happiness and nostalgia.

Videos- If you have phone, chances are there are some special moments captured on there in video form- save them as these are a great way to remember how you used to dress, what you looked like months- even years ago and what you were doing then that's different to now. You might feel jealous of your younger selves or a little wiser that you have some so far as a pair.

Pictures- Whether on a phone or camera- pictures are probably the most accurate still memories we have and they don't lie. They capture a moment in time and you are able to study them for as long as you wish. Even ones that were embarrassing even now- still tell a story. Although you may not appreciate being reminded, they are part of your joint tapestry anyway- and the older you get- the more accepting you might be of the choices you made.

Scrap book- If you don't like the idea of a disorganised memory box- then a scrap book can be a place to keep all of your cards, letters, tickets and gift tags in a neat and chronological order. You may need more than one of these to get youth through, but they make a lot of sense if you invest the time in keeping them up to date.

Audio- Some couples have audios of each other talking in their sleep, or of the other laughing. Try not to take for granted these snippets as it's easy to forget the sound of someone's voice when they are away for work- for instance. They never fail to make you laugh and can offer a lot of comfort when you are miles apart.
