Many relationship gurus and agony aunts say the one rule around arguing as a couple is never to go to sleep on one. Time4Sleep, has found that 31% of Brits do this not once but twice a week!

The research found that over 65s are the worst for bickering at bedtime and not resolving the conflict before their head hits the pillow. Even worse news is that 1 in 4 go to bed on a disagreement every night, only 6% aged between 25-34 feel that angry with their loved one on such a regular basis. So does that mean that the younger generation are better at stopping an argument in its tracks?

To top it off, once angry couples get into his bed, their habits don't make things any easier. 62% of women believe their partner takes up too much space, and 47% of men brag about this invasion of the mattress.

That said, women are the duvet hogging sex with 20% of men accusing their partner of making them cold on a night. Only 13% of males do this by comparison.

To ease the pain of a dispute- Time4Sleep has developed a dream bed- purely fictional of course- but it ticks all the boxes for quibbling couples.

The bed has a gadget that accuses the person who was in the wrong in the spat and a button that rolls the snorer over.

A secured duvet also combats the issue of duvet hoggers too- sounds good right?!

The bed has a 'his and hers' foot warmer, a split thickness duvet, an automatic pillow plumper for the ladies and a mover for the men.

Jonathan Warren, Director at Time4Sleep, said: "Sleep is very important to our health and wellbeing and it's important that people are going to bed feeling relaxed in order to ensure they are getting enough zzzs.

"We all have an idea of our dream bed, from the type of mattress to the number of pillows. We wanted to take this one step further and create the perfect bed for couples, so that neither party has to compromise! We've built in plenty of fun features, like the feet warmer, but aimed to make it practical for everyday couple life."
