Antony and Helen

Antony Holloway and Helen Grounds bonded and fell in love while playing World of Warcraft. They are now engaged, share a house, have two children together and have been crowned as Britain's Most Romantic Gamers. This makes them the first even couple to receive such an accolade by MobileSlots.com.

It was ten years ago that they first came into contact with one another over the a house share and gamed in their separate rooms, then Antony built up the courage to tell Helen that he loved her and that was the beginning of a blossoming romance.

Ant, an engineer and Helen- a full time mum- now have a five year old son- Alex and a one year old daughter- Cassie and have plans to tie the knot soon.

Helen, now 29, said: "My best friend was looking for a housemate to join her in Birmingham. I was fed up with my life in the Lincolnshire countryside so I packed my bags and moved out.

"Ant was sharing the same house while in his final year at university. We clicked instantly because of our love of gaming and it was Ant who introduced me to World of Warcraft.

"After a while I started to develop feelings for Ant but I had no idea if he felt the same. He was really shy but whenever we chatted online he was much more confident.

"But it wasn't until later that things started to get romantic. During one gaming session that had gone on until the small hours of the morning, we were both in our separate rooms chatting on World of Warcraft.

"Ant told me that he was in love with me but had only been able to pluck up the courage to tell me online.

"What happened next was a bit of a blur, I ran up from my room downstairs and he came down to meet me and we kissed on the landing. We've been together ever since.

"Ten years on since that fateful message we've had two kids together, bought a house and got engaged. I couldn't be happier.

"Gaming is still a huge part of our life. Our five-year-old son is into Minecraft and we all play together as a family."

MobileSlots searched for the nation's mot romantic gaming couple following claims that gaming sites were more integral in finding love than dating sites.

A spokesperson for MobileSlots.com said: "Online gaming platforms generally have more users, a younger demographic and are more frequented than dating sites, so statistically they are more likely to get you a date.

"Psychologically, they also create more of a romantic atmosphere than dating sites. Gaming sites invoke excitement and daring so people are less afraid to act on impulse.

"With lots of dating sites now, users can feel pigeonholed by their interests with an obvious agenda of finding love. At least with online gaming, you are meeting people who share your interests for fun and if a friendship becomes something more then it's an added bonus."

Helen said: "If it wasn't for online gaming, I don't think Ant would have ever braved asking me out.

"I think it's great that more people are looking to find love on online gaming sites. Some of us are too shy to meet people in bars and dating websites can be daunting.

"Online gaming sites are more romantic than you would think; a direct message on World of War craft is called a 'whisper' so Ant was literally whispering sweet nothings to me.

"One of the things I love most about Ant is that we share the same passion for gaming and even though we were both shy it gave us confidence to talk to each other and build our relationship."
