Kate Winslet

Kate Winslet

Kate Winslet turns 38 today, so we have a look over her love life since she became famous.

She met her first boyfriend, Stephen Tredre in 1991 on the set of Dark Season and had a four and half year relationship with him. The pair were still close after they split up in 1995, which he insisted upon, until he died during the opening week for Titanic and she consequently missed the Los Angeles premiere to attend his funeral.

On 22nd November 1998 Winslet got married to director Jim Threaplton in Reading, Berkshire, Winslet’s hometown. She met him on the set of Hideous Kinky in 1997. They have a daughter together, Mia Honey Threapleton, born in October 2000 in London. They got divorced on 13th December 2001.

Not long after her separation she began a relationship with director Sam Mendes and they got married on the 24th May on the island of Anguilla and when asked about it said that they did it on a whim;We hadn't been planning to do it but we thought it was rather a good idea, so we just did it. They first met when Mendes approached her about appearing in a play at the Donmar Warehouse Theatre where he was the director. They have a son Joe Alfie Winslet Mendes, born on the 22nd December 2003 in New York City. It was announced that the couple were splitting back in 2010 and they got divorced in 2011. The day that the first wave of paperwork came through for her divorce she had was shooting the divorce scene in Mildred Pierce.

In August 2011, Winslet met Ned Rocknroll whilst on holiday on Necker Island and they began seeing each other not long after. They got engaged in summer 2012 and moved to the UK from New York to South Downs National Park in West Sussex. The pair got married privately in New York in December 2012 and have had a son together Bear Blaze Winslet, born in Sussex England on 7th December 2013.

Happy Birthday Kate!
