How I Met Your Mother actress Alyson Hannigan turns 41 today so we take a look at her love life to celebrate.

Hannigan met her husband on the set of Buffy the Vampire Slayer- co-star Alexis Denisof. Their relationship had a rocky start as she asked him out when they first met, however he had a rule about not dating co-workers. When he left the show she had begun dating someone else. They became good friends and were so close that other people assumed that they were the actual couple. They eventually became an item with reservations about what it would do to their friendship; however it seems to have all worked out. Denisof said; 'I'm grateful for my time on Buffy-I met the woman of my dreams there.' (IMDB)
Hannigan also appeared in an episode of Angel with Denisof, she recalls; 'I finally got to spend a day with my honey, so that's really nervous coming in. I had butterflies in my stomach. I don't know why I was so nervous -- maybe because I don't know how to pronounce half the lines I have to say today. They're in some made-up language'.
Denisof was equally as grateful; 'It's a blast. I feel like it's a play day. I have to keep reminding myself that I'm at work. My girl is here! We're not getting to see much of each other. She has three jobs on her plate -- she's doing the next "American Pie" movie, she's doing Buffy the Vampire Slayer (1997) and today on Angel (1999). She's a busy woman, so it's a double delight. I keep looking at her, and inside I keep giggling, and I keep thinking to myself, 'I have to remember I'm in a scene. I can't just smile at my fiancée'. Denisof proposed while they were in Northern California wine county holiday season in 2002.
They married at Two Bunch Palms Resort in Desert Hot Springs, California on 11th October 2003 and it featured in February 2004 edition of InStyle Magazine.
They now have two daughters, Satyana Marie, born on Hannigan's birthday in 2009 and Keeva Jane, born on 23rd May 2012.
