Downton Abbey star Maggie Smith turns 79 today and she is still going strong- so to celebrate her birthday we take a look back over her relationships.
Smith has been married twice. She wed actor Robert Stephenson on 29th June 1967 at Greenwich Register Office, only ten days after the birth of her first child. The pair had two sons Chris Larkin and Toby Stephens and now has five grandchildren. The couple got divorced on 6th May 1974.
She then married playwright Beverly Cross on 23r August 1975 at Guildford Register Office. He sadly dies on 20th March 1988. When asked if she felt lonely after he passed away she aid; ‘I don't know.
