Recent research has found that couples are comforted by certain sounds- we've looked at each one and come up with the reasons why they're so soothing.
Birds tweeting- When you're lying in bed with each other on a weekend or when you're on holiday and there's nothing to wake you but the birds having a sing-song.
Radio- It's a reminder of road trips together, the love songs of your early courtship and nights when neither of you would get off the dancefloor.
TV- This is the background noise to snuggles in bed or on the couch and pyjama wearing, lazy days.
Rain on the window pane- When the weather encourages you to stay in and all you have is each other and your imagination.
Silence- You don't always have to talk to know what each other is feeling and thinking- when you've been a couple for a while, being together is enough.
Shower- The sound of your partner getting up before you and letting you have an extra ten minutes in bed.
Trains- Make you think of travel, new places and adventures that you've been on together and journeys you have yet to take.
Humming- People hum when they're happy, so when you hear their faint noises you know you're doing a good job.
