Vouchercodespro.co.uk has found that football beats, the likes of family, alcohol, friends and video games when it comes to couple's arguments. So why is it such test of a couple's patience? We take a look!

Football - Football can be broken down into five reasons for causing such animosity within a couple:

It's watched too much: When all you see when you go to sleep at night are little people moving around a green screen, you know that enough's enough.

With football comes alcohol: Apparently a match cannot be watched unless there is a cold one in the fridge. Like peas and carrots, tea and cake or fish and chips; football has to be accompanied by a beer or two.

He gets rowdy: One minute he's slagging off the neighbours for playing music too loud, next he's screaming at the TV like all the players are going to stop, take in what he's said and apply his new strategy.

We support different teams: Even if you like football- there is always going to be some sort of barrier between you still.

I want to watch other things: There is a reason you pay for Netflix, Now TV and Sky- what is it again? Oh yes because there are THOUSANDS of other channels with stuff for you to watch! It might be time to get your money's worth and press the button on the remote that accesses all of these alternatives.

Now that's out of the way, let's take a look at the other four things that couples fight over.

Family - Once you get into a relationship, you have to love his people like your own. But when they start to aggravate you- it's not like you can moan to your partner about them- after all you wouldn't want them to start verbally bashing your folks. All that pent up frustration that you would normally talk through has no means of release.

Alcohol - Partners change once they have alcohol inside their bodies. FACT. The guy you know, love and respect suddenly morphs into a guy who thinks it's ok to be misogynistic, prioritize his friends over you and talk complete and utter garbage.

Friends - They come with him, you may not like them all, but on occasion you have to put up with them. They see no fault in their friends words or actions, make excuses for their behaviour and they never see things from your point of view.

Video Games - Men are not great listeners to start off with, but throw in a video game and you might as well see a counsellor for as long as it takes them to finish it. At least then you will have someone to talk to who isn't plotting their next gaming move into their mind while your mouth moves.
