dating site Match.com has taken to the streets of Britain to find that British men are still desperately trying to sweep women off their feet with that British gentlemanly charm.
They named this breed of man the New Age Knight (NAK) and insist that they are committed to showing women that chivalry is still alive.
It’s often thought that mind only have their mind on one thing when on a date, and that’s the goodnight kiss.
Match.com found that only a third of men think that getting a goodnight kiss constitutes a good date, whilst a massive 74 per cent of men would say that good conversation is the important part of a date.
A great night out for 72 per cent of men means being able to find common ground with a woman and have a good laugh, whilst surprisingly, women are less interested in establishing an intellectual bond than men!
British men were found to be very attentive towards their date, with 50 per cent making sure they arrived at the date destination before their date.
The undivided attention continues throughout the date, with only a tiny 2.9 per cent of men checking the football scores, and 3.9 per cent texting their friends during the date.
If the date goes well they aren’t shy about letting the lucky lady know. Forty per cent of men would ask their date when they’re next free during the date and 80 per cent take the initiative to call her within 24 hours of the date.
Real gentlemen will never kiss and tell, and British gents passed the test! Sixty three per cent said they would never give away any of the juicy details of their great date once it’s over and 59 per cent said they would stay silent even if the date went badly.
Kate Taylor, resident relationship expert at match.com, said, “British men may have got some bad press in the past when it comes to romance, but these findings show they have returned to being perfect gentlemen.
“First to arrive at the venue and first to call, willing to make all the effort and wear their hearts on their sleeves; it’s clear that men have rediscovered the old values. As a woman I’m glad to see that these New Age Knights will still treat me like a princess and put me first at all times.”

Ladies and gentlemen,
We, The Movement of Chivalry, are also trying to bring back chivalry, in a big way, and on an international scale. We just need some more members to help kick-start our progress. Members (no cost, no credit card, currently casual signup) are welcome to give as much or as little time and effort as suits them, and all is appreciated.
